Charles Glennon “Shadow” Thebeau, Sr.
Charles “Shadow” Thebeau, Sr. of Eureka, Missouri was born on June 1, 1935 in Old Mines, Missouri. He was the son of the late Joseph Adrian Thebeau and Mary Frances (Coleman) Thebeau. Charles “Shadow” departed this life on October 9, 2005 at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri having reached the age of seventy years, four months and eight days.
Charles was united in marriage to Blanche Amsler on August 31, 1957 in Old Mines, Missouri at St. Joachim Catholic Church. To this union they were blessed to have four children.
Charles is survived by his loving wife, Blanche Thebeau of Eureka, Missouri, two sons, Charles Glennon Thebeau, Jr. of Eureka, Missouri, Darren Thebeau of Pacific, Missouri, two daughters, Tina Herbst of Eureka, Missouri, Marsha York of St. Louis, Missouri, three sisters, Theresa Sampson of Cadet, Missouri, Geraldine “Jean” Anselman and husband Robert of Cadet, Missouri, Rita Kamper and husband Carl of Cadet, Missouri, four brothers, Irvin Thebeau and wife Dorothy of Barnhart, Missouri, Leonard “Jiggs” Thebeau and wife Irene of Cadet, Missouri, Raymond Thebeau of Cadet, Missouri, Clifford “Benny” Thebeau and wife Ellen of Cadet, Missouri, five grandchildren, Christina, Frank, Andrew, Jennifer, Carly, two great granddaughters, Kaitlyn, Lacey, and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, James “Stanley” Thebeau, Nicholas E. Thebeau, Ralph A. Thebeau, two sisters, Margaret M. Pruitt, and Louise M. Missey.
Charlie was a longtime member and past President of the West County Lions Club in Eureka, Missouri and was very active with all of its programs. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eureka, Missouri and enjoyed volunteering with their fish fries and barbeques. He liked to travel with tour groups, especially to Branson, Missouri. Charlie loved visiting with his neighbors, many friends and family. He also enjoyed going on family trips to Circle-R-Ranch. Charlie liked to garden and cook among his many other activities. He served his country in the United States Army in Germany with Elvis Presley. Charlie will always be remembered for his loving smile and always having a joke to tell.
Visitation was held Tuesday, October 11, 2005 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at 10:00 AM at St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri with Father Ted Pieper officiating. Serving as pallbearers was Dean Kamper, Keith Kamper, Lonnie Lawson, Scott Amsler, Walter Pruitt, Frank Everhart, and Andrew Everhart.
Burial took place at the St. Joachim Catholic Cemetery, Old Mines, Missouri.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Home, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
