William Edward Masson

William Edward Masson of Mineral Point, Missouri was born on Thursday, December 10, 1942 in Mineral Point, Missouri. He was the son of the late Louis Samuel Masson and Genevieve (Adams) Masson. Bill departed this life on Friday, August 26, 2005 at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri having reached the age of sixty-two years, eight months, and sixteen days.

Bill is survived by his wife; Penny Anne Masson of Harrison, Arkansas, three daughters; Pamela Masson of Mineral Point, Missouri, Angela Jones of Mineral Point, Missouri, Tracy White and husband Ronald, Sr. of Patterson, Missouri, four sons; Brent Masson and wife Melissa of Doe Run, Missouri, Byron Masson of Caledonia, Missouri, Scott Masson and wife Jennifer of Potosi, Missouri, Billy Masson and wife Monica of St. Clair, Missouri one adopted daughter; Lawana Gamble of Mineral Point, Missouri, two stepdaughters; Deanna Fitzwater and husband Andrew of Mineral Point, Missouri, Nicole Wilson of Harrison, Arkansas, two stepsons; Allen Shepard of Superior, Wisconsin, Joey Wendland of Harrison, Arkansas, four brothers; George Revelle of Iowa, Paul Masson and wife Peggy of Texas, Lonnie Masson and wife Dianna of Mineral Point, Missouri, Harry Masson and wife Betty of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, five sisters; Sue Boyer of Bonne Terre, Missouri, Flora DeGonia and husband Ed of Mineral Point, Missouri, Jean Moyers of Oxly, Missouri, Dorothy McNew and husband Delbert of Oxly, Missouri, Faye Degonia of Mineral Point, Missouri, seven grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, and very special nephew and friend Jimmy Ray Revelle. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Florence Masson, three sisters; Oneta Eads McMahan, Dianne Masson, Beverly Masson, three brothers; Jackson Columbus Revelle, John “JR” Masson, Sherman Revelle, good Army buddy; Walter Lashbrooks, and lifetime friend; Betty Davis Masson.

Bill loved his family and spending time with them especially his grandchildren. Whether he was fishing, hunting, or gardening he enjoyed being in the outdoors. Bill liked to bake special treats for his family and many friends to enjoy, including homemade yeast rolls. Bill also loved his four wheel drive Dodge pick-up, and playing his handheld Yahtzee game. Bill also served and protected his country by enlisting to the US Army and received an honorable discharge.

Visitation was held Monday, August 29, 2005 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Tuesday, August 30, 2005 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.

A Funeral Service was held Tuesday, August 30, 2005 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Ardell Gray officiating. Serving as pallbearers was; Bobby Degonia, Paul Culp, Christopher Eads, Joshua Revielle, Denver Kley, Kenny McMahan, Billy Masson, and Louey Culp.

Burial Took place at White Oak Grove Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri. The Missouri Funeral Honors team and the Wash. Co. VFW Post 6996 honored Bill for his service to this country with the gun salute, taps and folding and presentation of the American flag.

Services were entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Home, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
