Jerry D. Davis

Jerry Don Davis of Belgrade, Missouri died Monday, December 27, 2004 at his home in Belgrade, Missouri surrounded by the love and care of his dear family and special friends, Jerry was Sixty Years and Eight Days of age at the time of his passing. Jerry was born Tuesday, December 19, 1944 in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas a son of Goldie Lucille (Holder) Davis and the late George Wilson Davis.

Jerry was united in marriage to Wanda Nipper on March 7, 1964 in Belgrade, Missouri and they were blessed to have two daughters and Forty plus years together.

Jerry was a member of the Belgrade First Church of God, Belgrade, Missouri.

Jerry had served this great country in the United States Navy and was a life member of the V.F.W. Post 6996.

Jerry had a great love for mankind and was dedicated to helping the people of the area, Jerry always made time to work an auction or a fund raiser for anyone in need or give them a ride to an appointment. Jerry was proud to serve his fellow man as a past member of the Washington County Health Department Board. He loved to spend time going to yard sales and auctions. The Christmas seasons was very special to him, he was always ready to put on the St. Nick clothing and bring smiles to all around him. Jerry had a very kind and sincere heart, he loved his family dearly and shared his wisdom and charity with all he came to know.

Jerry is survived by his loving and caring wife Wanda “Corky” Davis of Belgrade, Missouri; two daughters, Tammy Capps and husband Bill of Desloge, Missouri, Tara Boyer and husband Gilbert of Belgrade, Missouri; his mother, Lucille Davis of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas; one sister, Katherine Richardson and husband Terry of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas; four brothers, Billy Ray Davis and wife Francis of Wilburn, Arkansas, Tommy Darrell Davis and wife Shirley of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, Robert Dale Davis and wife Pharis of Hoxie, Arkansas, Rick Davis of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas; six grandchildren that could always bring a smile to his face, Christopher, Jackie, Adam, Olivia, Blake and Keegan and by many other relatives and dear friends.

Visitation was held Wednesday, December 29, 2004 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri and Thursday, December 30, 2004 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Belgrade First Church of God.

Funeral Services were held Thursday, December 30, 2004 at 1:00 PM at the Belgrade First Church of God, Belgrade, Missouri with Reverend Myron Laramore officiating assisted by Reverend Wendell Nipper and Reverend John Lands. Music was provided by Reverend Bruce Nipper, Willie and Lola Delashmit and a special song by the congregation.

Burial and Grave side rites were held at the Palmer Cemetery, Palmer, Missouri. The Missouri Funeral Honors Team and the VFW Post 6996 provided Full Military Rites at the Cemetery. Honoring the great life of Jerry and his many deeds to his family and the community, Chris Capps, Adam Capps, Matt Davis, Woody Davis, Brian Davis, Doyne Davis, Lynn Rider and John Payton served as Pallbearers.

Services were entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Home, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
