Charles Alfred Murphy

Charles Alfred Murphy of Tiff, Missouri was born Tuesday, February 12, 1935 in Tiff, Missouri a son of the late Sadie (Brown) Murphy and Joseph Murphy. Charles departed this life Monday, August 16, 2004 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital at the age of Sixty-nine years, Six months and Four Days.

Charles is survived by One son, Charles Stewart Murphy of Saginaw, Michigan; One brother, Carl Murphy of Tiff, Missouri; Two sisters, Vernice Cole of St. Louis, Missouri, Silverine Sullivan of Booneville, Missouri and by many other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his parents, Charles was also preceded in death by Three brothers, Eaveret Murphy, Joseph Murphy and Roy Murphy; One sister, Carolyn Coleman.

Charles had a great love for life and its many simple pleasures. He enjoyed visiting with his many friends and family. He loved to spend time in the outdoors looking at the many gifts of mother nature. He enjoyed going squirrel hunting. Charles always seemed to have a smile and a kind word for anyone passing his way. He enjoyed playing the lottery and always knew he may not win but loved the thrill of playing.

Visitation was held Friday, August 20, 2004 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.

Funeral services were held Friday, August 20, 2004 at 1:00 PM at the Moore Memorial Chapel with Pastor Lindell Johnson and Reverend James E. Dunn, Sr. officiating. Music was provided by Sister Sadie Bruce. Burial was in the Craig Cemetery, Tiff, Missouri.
