Elmer Raymond Sansoucie

Elmer Cotton Sansoucie of Old Mines, Missouri was Born Tuesday, January 29, 1924 in Old Mines, Missouri a son of the late Mary Elizabeth (Thebeau) Sansoucie and Loomis George Sansoucie. Cotton was fortified with the Sacraments of the Holy Mother Church Friday, November 14, 2003 at the Georgian Gardens Nursing Center, Potosi, Missouri at the age of Seventy-Nine Years, Nine Months and Sixteen Days.

Cotton was united in marriage to Rose M. DeClue May 12, 1951 in DeSoto, Missouri by Father Nosser. Rose Preceded her husband in death June 3, 1992. Cotton and Rose made their home in Old Mines, Missouri and were Blessed to have six children.

Cotton is survived by three loving and devoted daughters, Yolanda McClane and husband Dan of Old Mines, Missouri, Yevette Trokey and husband Don of Cadet, Missouri, Mary Gensler and Husband Gary of Mineral Point, Missouri; Two dear sons, Lyle Sansoucie and wife Sandy of Old Mines, Missouri and Lynn Sansoucie and wife Shelly of St. Louis, Missouri; One Sister, Agatha Bequette and husband Rousan of Old Mines, Missouri; One Brother, Harold Sansoucie and wife Norma Jean of Hillsboro, Missouri; Sixteen Grandchildren; Thirteen Great Grandchildren and by many other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wife Cotton was also preceded in death by One Infant daughter, One Sister, Catherine Coleman; Three Brothers, Edgar Sansoucie, James Sansoucie and Edward Sansoucie.

Cotton was a long time member of the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri where he enjoyed going to mass and the many activities of the Church. Cotton Served this Country in the United States Marine Corps. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and the many other gifts of Mother Nature. Cotton loved to spend time singing and playing his harmonica. Cotton always found a way to put a smile on your face, especially if that smile came from one of his jokes.

Visitation was held Sunday, November 16, 2003 from 3:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. and Monday, November 17, 2003 from 8:30 A.M. to 9:30 A.M. at the Moore Funeral Home, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated Monday, November 17, 2003 at 10:00 A.M. at the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri with Father Ted Pieper Officiating. Music was provided by the St. Joachim Catholic Church Choir.

Burial services were Monday, November 17, 2003 at 11:15 A.M. at the St. Joachim Catholic Church Cemetery, Old Mines, Missouri with Father Ted Pieper Officiating. Serving as Pallbearers were Pete Gamble, D.J. Trokey, John Trokey, Don Gamble, Lyle Sansoucie and Mike Sansoucie.

Services were entrusted to the Care and Direction of Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
